Rev. Jonathan Cox began duties November 20, 2005, as pastor of Providence. He previously served as pastor of Oolenoy Baptist Church in Pickens, SC. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Gardner-Webb College and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Rev. Cox and his wife, Angela, have three daughters: Melissa, Kristen, & Ashley.

Scott Parmenter started leading worship at Trinity Baptist of Athens, Greece in 1985. Since then it has been a tremendous journey of ministry and music for many years. Scott is a graduate of the University of Maryland and has been married to his wife Angie for over 27 years. They have three "grown" children, Anthony, Kristin, and Nathan. Scott began his duties here at Providence during May of 2008.
Brandon Smith joined our staff as Youth Director in June of 2009. He felt the call into ministry when he was 17 years old and has been working with our students since the day he and his family joined Providence. Brandon and his wife Ame have two children, Maverick and Madelyn. In his spare time, Brandon enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing basketball, football, and fishing.

Gayle Taylor has served as church secretary at Providence Baptist Church for 30 years. She graduated from Wingate College. Gayle is married to Steve Taylor who is in transportation. They have two sons, Michael & Berton Lee. She also plays an important roll in our music ministry. We are very thankful for all that she does for Providence. In her spare time, Gayle enjoys spending time with her family, reading, writing short poems, and recording memories.
